Ingredients

  • 2 cup warm water 110 F°

  • 2 packages of yeast

  • ½cup sugar

  • ¼ cup butter (room temp)

  • 1 egg (room temp)

  • 2 t salt

  • 5½-6 cups quality all purpose flour

Directions

  • Mix warm water and yeast stir till dissolved in a 2 cup liquid measuring cup
  • Add sugar, butter, egg, and salt to your stand mixer or large bowl.
  • Add yeast water mixture to bowl and mixture and mix for 1 minute
  • Add 3 cups of flour and mix till smooth
  • Add 2½ cups more of flour mix until just incorporated
  • Add additional ½cup of flour if too sticky
  • Put in a greased bowl  and wrap with film
  • Let rise 2-24 hours
  • Punch down and form rolls and put them on a baking sheet
  • Cover with towel and let rise in a  warm draft free place  for 30 minutes
  • Cook at 400º F for 8-10 minutes let cool on a wire rack
